Studies have shown that when a woman gets to be older 60's, 70's, and so forth, she may not remember the details of her birth experience in depth....but she will always remember how she was made to feel during that experience. There are many different scenarios that can play out during birth, and some of those may not be exactly as you planned. However, how you are treated by a provider and staff is of great importance. To be respected, to be cared for, to be heard, and to have good understanding of your options is a couple's right. Even if it were an emergent response, how you are treated is of vital importance. This is the way that you will feel okay about a process even if it was not ideal. If it was a perfect birth scenario, it is only remembered as such if you were treated right during the process. Therefore one of the most important decisions that you can make as a pregnant woman is who you choose to be your care provider and for delivery of the baby. You are worth it. Interview, ask questions, pray and really settle on the right provider for you It is worth taking the time, paying the price, committing to a path, and dedicating this birth to the Lord. You can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens you.
